According to the organization’s forecast, the overall notebook market will reach 172 million units in 2024, an annual growth of 3.2%. They believe that the main growth momentum will come from the slow release of the terminal business market demand for replacement, as well as part of the market segments such as Chromebooks, as well as the continued expansion of the gaming pen computer.
IT home noted that TrendForce also mentioned the development of AI PC in the report. The organization believes that due to the high cost of upgrading software and hardware related to AI PCs, the initial stage of development will focus on high-level business users and content creators, and the emergence of AI PCs may not necessarily stimulate additional demand for PC purchases, and most of them will naturally migrate and upgrade to AI PCs along with the process of replacing business PCs in 2024.
TrendForce believes that, for the consumer side, the current PC device can provide cloud-based AI applications to meet the needs of daily life and entertainment, such as the short-term AI killer applications, put forward a sense of upgrading the AI experience, it will be difficult to quickly promote the popularity of consumer AI PC. However, in the long run, after developing more diversified AI tool application possibilities in the future, and lowering the price threshold, the popularization rate of consumer AI PCs can still be expected.
