This advanced HDR rendering is also available in a variety of third-party apps, giving images shared online an even more striking look. This brings even more power to the 48-megapixel main camera, the ultra-wide-angle camera, and the front-facing depth-of-field camera.
A16 Bionic Chip: Reliable, powerful performance.
The fast and efficient A16 bionic chip gives iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus the consistent, reliable performance they need for mobile islands, computational photography, and more. With 2 high-performance cores that use 20 percent less power, and a 6-core CPU with 4 power-efficient cores that are faster than the previous generation, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are able to handle heavy workloads with ease while delivering exceptionally long battery life. The 5-core graphics processor delivers up to 50 percent more memory bandwidth for silky-smooth image performance for online video playback and gaming. The new 16-core neural network engine, with a speed of nearly 17 trillion cycles per second, delivers even faster machine learning calculations for features in iOS 17 and third-party app experiences, while utilizing secure compartments to protect the most critical privacy and security features.
Powerful connectivity
For charging, staying connected on the go, and more, the iPhone 15 Series brings new conveniences. Both models switch to USB-C, the industry’s widely adopted standard for charging and data transfer, which means the same cable can now charge iPhone, Mac, iPad, and the updated AirPods Pro (second generation). Users can also charge AirPods or Apple Watch directly from the USB-C port on iPhone. Both models support wireless charging using MagSafe chargers and, in the future, Qi2 chargers.
The iPhone 15 Series continues to deliver a premium, ultrafast 5G Internet experience with improved sound quality for calls, including those made using the FaceTime calling app and a variety of third-party apps.
